Damage Doctor starts moving to new CSCS Qualified Cards
On the 31st March 2017 the surface repair industry was challenged with the withdrawal of the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) CRO Card typically issued to Surface Repair Technicians to show they were qualified to attend site by simply passing a CITB Health & Safety test.
This was replaced with a CSCS Card only issued to surface repair technicians who could prove they had been trained adequately, correctly and had passed the required NVQ course as proof of this training.
Mark West, Managing Director at Damage Doctor, has said “With the removal of the CSCS CRO card the CITB has recognised a gap where people could set themselves up as repair technicians with no formal training or real experience. The introduction of a specific NVQ for surface repairs recognises those companies with the correct knowledge and commitment to train their staff to the standard expected by the industry. We hope that the industry will recognise this commitment and only use companies committed to this change”.
Damage Doctor are proud to announce that the first of our technicians have passed the NVQ, and with 60% of the other technicians already on the NVQ and the remaining to be enrolled before the end of 2018 we are committed to this.
Well done Darren and Sav pictured here receiving their NVQ Certificates. Sav also has his SSSTS Certificate bringing the total of Damage Doctor technicians with this qualification to 80%.
